The Scamdoc community values respect and kindness in all online interactions. This guide aims to establish the rules and good practices to follow in order to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all users, whether registered or not. Since May 2021, adhering to this charter is a prerequisite for creating an account or logging in.

Kindness and Respect in Comments

The attitude of users towards the various profiles on Scamdoc should be guided by kindness. Here are some key principles to respect:

  • Opt for a neutral tone and avoid any form of aggression or mockery.
  • Refrain from criticizing the quality of reports. Instead, ask for clarifications if needed.
  • Avoid blaming contributors. There is no need to highlight the mistakes of victims or less cautious users.
  • Expressions of gratitude are always appreciated. Feel free to express them.

Usefulness of Comments

Comments on Scamdoc should be informative and relevant. They can serve to:

  • Confirm or refute a scam.
  • Provide or request additional details on a report.
  • Offer or seek help related to the subject.
  • Explain how a scam works.

Comments should not be used to:

  • Engage in private conversations (use private messaging for this purpose).
  • Share overly technical information.
  • Repeat generic or low-value advice.
  • Advertise, including in a disguised form.

Compliance with Law and Conduct Rules

Even under a pseudonym, users must respect French law and avoid:

  • Incitement to illegal activities.
  • Impersonation.
  • Offensive, racist, defamatory, or insulting remarks.
  • Writing false reviews.
  • Harassment.
  • Violating others’ rights, particularly through inappropriate use of images.
  • Spreading inappropriate content.

By participating on Scamdoc, internet users commit to:

  • Using only one account.
  • Avoiding spelling mistakes and excessive use of abbreviations.
  • Not overusing capital letters.
  • Personalizing comments to avoid spam.
  • Not hiding their real IP address.

Penalties for Non-Compliance

In the event of non-compliance with these rules, administrators and moderators can impose penalties such as:

  • Temporary or permanent restriction of account-related rights.
  • Account deletion.
  • Removal/hiding of comments or reports in violation.
